FEE is a trumpet player and vocalist who has been a rising star in the Northern music scene for several years now. Refusing to be confined to one genre, her music is a blend of styles taking influence from the thriving Leeds/UK jazz scene with stylistic nods to jazz, afrobeat, hip hop and grime. Artists she has worked with, and been inspired by, include She’s Got Brass, Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band, NYJO, Yolanda Brown, Steamdown, Nubiyan Twist, Ruby Mae, Nubya Garcia and August Charles.
Her songs showcase intricate vocal melodies and sultry trumpet solos, underpinned by a highly skilled eight piece band, and her performances have been described as “exhilarating” and “electrifying”. She has handpicked a band of Leeds’ finest musicians to accompany her, as well as stunning performances from guest rappers and soloists.
FEE grew up in Somerset before moving to Leeds to study and immerse herself in the buzzing live music scene of the North. She built up a career as a session musician, performing and recording for many different artists across the country, before taking the leap into becoming an artist herself, writing and performing her own music. Since launching her artist project, she has played Leeds Jazz Festival, several support slots, and most recently a headline celebrating her debut single ‘Malicious Ambition’.
